To sign up for a workshop, please download or request a registration form, fill it out, and mail it in with your registration fee at least one week in advance of the workshop.

WORKSHOP -

Digital Darkroom -


We will look at digital images and learn how to format the images through a range of Photoshop techniques. Images will be prepared to print on Archival Ink Jet paper. Each student will receive one 16” X 20” Archival print of their photography.



WORKSHOP -

Picture Framing:

Matting -


Center Gallery will be presenting the process of archival matting and framing. We will discuss the process of selecting archival mounting and matting materials, and demonstrate the various presentation methods for fine art photography.


Each participant should bring a photograph, 11” X 14” or smaller to dry mount and matt. Archival matt board and mounting board provided.

Picture Framing:

Framing -


Center Gallery will follow up on  presenting the process of archival matting and framing. We will discuss the process of selecting from wood and metal mouldings, and the various methods of presentation for fine art photography. We will assist you in determining the desired presentation suited to complement your photograph.


Each participant should bring a matted and/or mounted photograph, 16” X 20” matt size. We will assemble the photograph in a metal frame. Frame moulding and glass provided.



WORKSHOP -

Destination Photo Shoot:

Landscape -


We will focus on photographing the landscape with a 4” X 5” large format view camera. Learn how to use the controls of the camera to control perspective and selective focusing.



WORKSHOP -

Street Photography:

Participate in the assignment to shoot documentary photographs -


Participating photographers have shot photos at the Wichita River Festival using the street photography genre. Local photojournalist, Skippy Sanchez will be presenting a lecture about the process of shooting street photography. We discussed ways of working, public spaces, private places & private property, technique & style, photo gear and mustering the guts it takes to poke a camera in somebody else’s face. So, you wanna be a street photographer, do you?



WORKSHOP -

Portfolio Review Night-


A panel of Fine Art and Commercial photographers will be reviewing portfolios. This event is a great learning tool through lively discussion and constructive criticism. Each photographer will gain the insight needed about their work to develop professional marketable portfolios. A lecture will be presented about the process of creating a cohesive and conceptual body of work.


Out of town artists are welcome to participate in the portfolio review by submitting a digital portfolio, and written critiques will be supplied to you at the end of the event.
